was incorporated in Italy during the first half of 1998 under the
name of TLC srl and was re-named in 2001. The President, and founder
of the company is Dr Francesco Terenziani.
Initially,
the company focused it's activities on the acquisition,
refurbishment & re-sale of pre-owned UHV deposition tools,
especially products such as the Eclipse and MRC batch
sputter systems. While establishing the company, it became apparent
that the market for pre-owned equipment had changed.
Once this market existed to serve small manufacturers but now
the procurement of pre-owned equipment is the policy of major
semiconductor producers, as they push for ever greater reductions in
the key 'cost-of-ownership' driver. TFE
is well placed to serve this
market, with a global contacts network that allows the company to
source many equipment types.
Today,
the company's product portfolio, extends to a variety of high tech.
thin film processing equipment. The company not only acts as the
European Representative for several OEM companies, it also remanufactures
a range of equipment within it's own facilities. The product range
includes batch sputter systems, customer application specific vacuum
and UHV systems, and spare parts for a wide variety of clean-room
equipment.
